Serpentine Jade Dance Troupe
Serpentine Jade is a trans-cultural fusion dance troupe. We dance with a variety of props including veil, basket, tray, and fire, but consider sword dancing to be our specialty.
What We Do
As a trans-cultural fusion dance troupe we incorporate elements from various dance traditions. Located in the Upstate of South Carolina, we perform, teach and speak across the United States, spreading the joy of dance and cultural appreciation.
Our History
Serpentine Jade was founded in 2019 by long time dance partners Laura Jae and Angela Dee.
Our Mission
At Serpentine Jade we are dedicated to celebrating the art of dance through a unique blend of cultural influences. Our mission is to inspire and engage audiences with our captivating performances and educational outreach.

Angela Dee
Laura Jae is many things, and dancer is one of them. She has been a student of dance all her life, and a student of bellydance since the Spring of 2017. In her 8 years of bellydance, she has accomplished many things: became a member of the Niad Dance Company Student Troupe; co-founded Serpentine Jade, a trans-cultural dance collective; became a certified Niad instructor; is a certified Boho Blade Single Sword Level 3 Warrior and a Double Sword Level 1 Initiate.

Angela Dee
Angela began her dance journey in 2016 with a beginner class at Bella Dance Studio in Spartanburg, SC. Since then she has studied with Niad Dance, Bohemian Belly Dance, Stygian Dance and many other talented teachers. She co-founded Serpentine Jade with fellow Niad dancer Laura Jae in 2019.

Shannon Bridwell
Shannon Bridwell first saw dancers with swirling skirts, shiny swords, and serpentine movements at a renaissance festival and was enchanted. She began her journey into dance over a decade ago and performs with both Niad Dance Company and Serpentine Jade in South Carolina.
She is certified in Boho Blade Single Sword Level 6: Mystic, Double Sword Level 2: Novice, Stygian level 2: Engage and is working on Stygian level 3: Evolve.

Thereeza is a fusion dancer and performs with Serpentine Jade.
She began her fusion dance journey in 2015 and currently studies under Niad Dance Studio, Bohemian Belly Dance, Ebony Qualls Urban Fusion and Stygian Dance.
She is Certified in Boho Blade Single Sword Level 4 Specialist, Double Sword Level 1 Initiate and Stygian Level 1.
